Beneficiaries become leaders with 4Ps

BAGUIO CITY – The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the DSWD-CAR recently trained some of its parent beneficiaries from Baguio City and Mountain Province to become parent leaders.

Seventy two parent leaders from Baguio City, and municipalities of Sadanga, Natonin and Paracelis in Mt. Province attended a seminar-workshop that would equip them with skills and knowledge on leadership and community organizing.

DSWD trains MOVE Chapter to intensify anti-VAWC, gender advocacy

DAVAO CITY – Leaving his six children in his home in Baguio, Ferdy, a single father, traveled almost nine hours to reach the hotel venue here. Taking a long trip was not easy. He was not used to wasting his time on travels leaving errands and other responsibilities at home but this time, there was something on his itinerary that made him board the plane to Davao. Ferdy thought that what he will experience from his travel will also benefit his children someday. This time, he is not only a father but a leader of an all-male organization in his workplace.

Kapangan LGU leads training of 4Ps parent leaders

KAPANGAN, Benguet – Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) parent leaders here recently underwent capability training sponsored by the municipal Local Government Unit (LGU).

Twenty three parent leaders participated in the said event which aims to equip them with skills and knowledge on leadership and community organizing. This is a part of the planned roll out of parent leaders training this August by the 4Ps Regional Project Management Office (RPMO) to Set 1 areas which covers Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mt. Province and Baguio City.

Sablan bus mishap victims, families receive aid from DSWD

BAGUIO CITY – True to its mandate of being the lead agency in social protection, the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD-CAR) through its Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU) extended assistance to the victims and families of the August 18 bus accident in Sablan, Benguet.

Forty two people perished in what was considered the worst highway accident here in recent history.

Advisory committee formed to oversee 4Ps in Abra

BANGUED, Abra—As a part of the program implementation, the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Regional Project Management Office (RPMO) recently convened the Provincial Advisory Committee (PAC) here.

The 4Ps RPMO team headed by the DSWD Regional Director Porfiria M. Bernardez initiated the creation of the committee, the first province in the Cordillera Administrative Region to do so.
